Adrian Chiles, Christine Bleakley and Jonathan Ross ‘face the axe’ in ITV cull after ‘failing to del

Three of ITV’s highest paid stars are expected to face the chop when their contracts come to an end in the next 12 months.
Adrian Chiles, Christine Bleakley and Jonathan Ross have all reportedly failed to deliver on the ratings front after switching from the BBC to ITV three years ago.
According to theDaily Star, the presenters who have combined earnings of £5million, are now in the firing line from ITV executives.

Axe: Christine Bleakley is reportedly one of the stars due to be axed by ITV within the next 12 months

An insider told the paper: ‘It is fair to say that we paid top dollar for Jonathan, Christine and Adrian and to be frank they haven’t delivered the ratings we had hoped and expected.

‘Any new deal they might be offered would be on greatly reduced terms.’
Adrian and Christine, who initially joined ITV to host Daybreak, are both on four year contracts which are believed to end early next year.

Firing line: While Chiles is doing well on the football front, the show's executives say he wasn't signed up for that
Jonathan, who has a two year deal worth £4m which runs out this year is thought to be ‘resigned to his fate’ of seeing his Saturday night show be axed when this series comes to an end.
The Daily Star reports that while Adrian is doing a good job hosting the football it isn’t the main reason he was initially signed.
It seems the presenter, who is currently dating Catherine Tate, is oblivious to any trouble on the horizon, as he recently said: ‘I love working for ITV, long may it continue.’

Flop: Jonathan Ross has failed to deliver with his Saturday night chat show after moving from the BBC
The source added: ‘We have other ideas for Jonathan after his chat show ends but it depends on whether we can agree terms.’
Adrian and Christine quit Daybreak shortly after leaving the BBC as it proved to be a flop, with 46-year-old Adrian moving on to a weekend chat show which was also axed.
Christine, who in engaged to footballer Frank Lampard, moved on to Dancing On Ice, as well as doing various specials for the channel.

Didn't last long: Christine and Adrian moved over from BBC to ITV to present Daybreak but failed to set TVs alight
For Jonathan, or Wossy as he is known, things aren’t looking so good as his show is being beaten in the ratings by Graham Norton, who manages to get 4million viewers on a Friday night, while Ross gets 3million on Saturday.
While the channels three big earners’ futures aren’t looking too rosy, Jake Humphreys has been picked up by BT Vision to be the face of their football next year.
A spokesperson for ITV has been contacted for comment.
