With exactly one intervening year between the initial brush stroke, in October 2012, and a completed collection, Carole Bridge realised her artistic ambitions last Saturday at Chronicles -- the go-to stationery and courier services shop located in the upper half of Manor Park Plaza -- as she mounted her first solo exhibition. Celebrating a decade in business, the document centre presented Bridge's 16-piece collection of local flora and fauna rendered in mostly acrylics and a few oils, to an intimate gathering of family, friends and well-wishers who were feted with wine and cheese, courtesy of Bars 2 Go, as they mingled and indulged in this visual treat. Culture vultures that we are, Saturday Social was on hand to witness this debut.
