MONTEGO BAY, St James RETAILERS and shoppers in the parishes of St James and Westmoreland hailed the Jamaica Observer Takes Style Out (TSO) on the weekend, saying they have benefited greatly from the three-day shopping spree.
"It was very nice. Sales were very good," said Kevin Moon, the manager of MK Mart on St James Street in Montego Bay.

Moon was among several people who gave the thumbs up to TSO in Montego Bay.
The initiative which was held over three days began on Thursday and saw scores of shoppers benefiting from massive discounts on a wide variety of merchandise, while retailers enjoyed increased business, at a time when sales are usually sluggish.
From early Thursday shoppers flocked the MK Mart, which sells a wide variety of merchandise, including clothing and appliances.
Shoppers were also spotted at a number of other stores along St James Street and in other sections of the resort city, cashing in on the discounts
Sunil Chatani, the manager of Danny's Bargain Centre on Barnett Street said he experienced a marked increase in business over the three days.
Twin sisters, Pauline Seaton and Nadine Von Stockhausen Petersunnot who operate Big Twin and Little Twins Fashions respectively, said they enjoyed good sales at their stores located in Savanna-la-Mar, adding that they "fully embrace" the fashion weekend extravaganza concept.
"It all right because things a run," declared Von Stockhausen Petersun on Thursday night.
Her sister said: "Three days good because I have more time to sell off my items."
Patrick Campbell, the manager of Sinclair's Bargain Centre in downtown Savanna-la-Mar told the Jamaica Observer West that although shopping was not as heavy as previous years, he was still grateful for the support from customers.
His store offered discounts of up to 70 per cent.
A shopper at Sinclair's, who gave her name as Shanique, was happy for the massive discounts.
"The bargains are good they are very reasonable this year," she said.
Annessa, another shopper at the store, who sought "flats" and bags corroborated with Shanique.
"This year (bargains) is a little bit better in comparison to former years," she noted.
Simone Brooks and her friend Aliah Stewart spent time at Maxi Department Store in the Fairview Shopping Centre in Montego Bay, cashing in on the great bargains.
"The prices here are great," said Brooks, pointing to a number of dresses that were heavily marked down. Her friend agreed.
"The prices are really awesome and now that the sale is for three days this year, makes it even better for shoppers," said Stewart on Thursday night.
A celebratory atmosphere prevailed at the nearby Fontana Pharmacy.
There, shoppers were treated to complimentary food and drink, and many danced up a storm to the pulsating music.
